
Stephanie R. Pearmain holds an MFA in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hollins University and is also a graduate of the Children's Book Academy. She is currently an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Arizona, where she teaches courses on Children's and Young Adult Literature and publishing. Stephanie’s prior work experience includes working at bookstores, grant writing for non-profit organizations, and teaching. She has served as a Reader with a top Juvenile Literary Agency and as a Fiction Reader for YARN, an award winning online YA magazine. In the fall of 2016 her University of Arizona publishing class launched an online children's literature publication which has grown and been re-branded as Pine Reads Review with a focus on YA stories, reviews, and author/illustrator interviews. Pine Reads Review is run as an undergraduate internship. In her spare time she swims, bikes, runs, and reviews & edits books (picture books through novels). She resides primarily in Tucson, Arizona.
